Our May Meeting brought a variety of interesting aspects of stitch. In the morning Edwina, introduced some of us to stitching to music with an interesting range of mood and tempo, producing some fascinating results, and introducing us to some new pieces of music.
The speaker was Cas Holmes – on Found Objects. After an entertaining but worrying battle with the projector, Cas was able to inspire us with her beautiful and unusual work and tales of her Romany origins and the history behind pieces of work she had brought to show us. It was a brilliant illustration of how “rags” can be turned into “riches” by a talented artist.
The following day a number of members attended a workshop with Cas – here’s a selection of photographs taken on the day. As ever, we look forward to admiring the finished results at our June Meeting.
